Stuart MacDonald

Vice President, Regional Development

Stuart is responsible for the delivery of a variety of projects for Federal Realty’s Western region, including mixed-use development, speculative office buildings, multi-unit residential buildings and retail center revitalizations.

Stuart, who joined Federal in 2008, has 30 years of industry experience which include five years in development services for Jones Lang La Salle. Throughout his career, he has managed the real estate development and design services on a wide array of projects. Notable recent projects for Federal include Class-A office buildings and multi-unit luxury residential buildings at Santana Row; previous engagements include campuses for Google (The Googleplex and Crittenden Campus), Accenture Central London and Transit Oriented Development (TOD) facilities for the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART).

Stuart has been a licensed architect in the State of California for over 20 years and has held professional affiliations through the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He earned a degree in architecture from the University of California at Berkeley.
