Jan Sweetnam

Jan leads Federal’s growth initiatives, including vertical development opportunities at our existing assets, acquisitions, dispositions, and investment performance.

Jan, a seasoned executive with more than three decades in the industry, has held several senior positions since joining Federal in 1997 and was instrumental in growing our West Coast portfolio. In 2021, he was appointed executive vice president, Western Region president. Prior to this, he was vice president, director of acquisitions with CB Richard Ellis Investors, where he was responsible for the acquisition of investment properties in the Midwest and Southwest regions of the United States for pension fund clients such as the State of Utah, Building Investment Trust and CalPERS. Jan joined CB Richard Ellis Investors in 1990 where he also served as portfolio manager for community shopping centers, marketing director for urban office buildings and leasing director for industrial properties. From 1986 through 1988 he was employed by Julien J. Studley as a real estate investment sales broker in Los Angeles.

Jan received a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Los Angeles. He is an active member of the Northern and Southern California real estate committees.
