Deirdre M. Johnson

Senior Vice President, Asset Management

Deirdre oversees short- and long-term value creation initiatives, strategic planning, value-add redevelopment strategies, property branding, and creative ancillary income opportunities for Federal’s Maryland portfolio. In her role, she is responsible for maximizing the value of approximately 5.1 million square feet of real estate across a range of formats, including notable mixed-use destinations such as Bethesda Row and Pike & Rose.

Deirdre joined Federal in 2007 as director of asset management and has held progressively senior leadership roles across the company’s portfolio. Most recently, she led the asset management strategy for Federal’s Virginia portfolio. Her experience spans mixed-use, lifestyle, and community shopping centers, as well as the development and management of regional paid parking programs, regional property marketing and public relations initiatives, and oversight of the residential portfolio. Prior to joining Federal, she served as vice president and general manager at Capitol Real Estate Services Inc. and held management, marketing, and leasing roles at Urban Retail Properties Company and The Rouse Company.

Deirdre earned a bachelor of science in business administration from Old Dominion University. She holds the ICSC Certified Retail Property Executive (CRX) designation and the Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) designation. She is also a member of ICSC, the Urban Land Institute, and NAIOP Northern Virginia.
