Christian Melgard

With over 15 years in the retail real estate industry, Christian spearheads the operations and strategic planning for Federal’s Maryland portfolio. In his role, he is responsible for maximizing the value of approximately 5.1 million square feet of real estate in a range of formats, including notable mixed-use assets Bethesda Row and Pike & Rose.

Prior to joining the company in 2022, he served as vice president of leasing at Raider Hill Advisors. During his time there, Christian was responsible for the leasing, redevelopment, and disposition of over 15 million square feet across the country. His prior experience also includes vice president of leasing positions at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield and DDR Corp., where he managed large-scale redevelopments and asset repositioning projects across multiple retail asset classes throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Christian holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from University of Maine at Augusta. He is an active member of ICSC and serves on the board of directors for Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.
