We are currently sourcing for a Junior Treasury Analyst, to be based in our headquarter office in North Bethesda, Maryland. The Junior Treasury Analyst is part of the team responsible for treasury management and accounts payable. This role will be mainly responsible for supporting the Senior Manager, Treasury Management with day-to-day treasury/cash management functions and accounts payable related duties. The Treasury team is responsible for ensuring that cash is available for company operations. In addition, the Junior Treasury Analyst will assist with electronic payment initiatives for incoming/outgoing payments; weekly cash entries; bank account maintenance; analysis of treasury services and bank fees and audit requests
Responsibilities
- Assist with tenant migration to ACH payments which involves filling out tenant ACH forms; perform a periodic review of incoming ACH transactions to ensure that the bank reporting matches tenant data in JDE. Research tenant eligibility for ACH setup, as needed
- Execution of daily wires related to account payable, cash positioning, debt, and other recurring payments
- Administer payment of real estate taxes for all Federal Realty properties including loading the tax bills to Nexus; final AP approval of the taxes for payment and preparing and mailing the checks to the respective taxing authorities
- Assist with the opening, closing and on-going maintenance of bank accounts to include completing the required KYC bank documentation for new accounts; requests to add/remove treasury management services and ensure all bank accounts have current authorized signatories
- Assist with vendor electronic payment initiative to switch check vendors to ACH or credit card payments. Perform quarterly review of vendors to convert to electronic payments
- Work with Senior Manager to analyze existing bank fees and make recommendations on how to reduce fees or eliminate services not needed
- Support Senior Manager with the line of credit which includes preparing letters for draws and paydowns and maintaining the schedule of monthly interest due and LIBOR rates
- Act as support for internal and external partners – troubleshoot banking issues with tenant receipts or vendor payments; research and resolve bank reconciliation items and prepare audit schedules
- Review daily cash activity in treasury workstation and ensure that designated cash transactions are tagged in preparation for generating weekly cash journal entries
- Prepare monthly intercompany cash transfers
- Prepare reconciliation and wire transfer requests for the monthly vendor credit card bill
- Assist with the final AP approval of invoices in Nexus, as needed
- Assist with vendor maintenance, as needed; adding new vendors and updating existing vendor profiles in JDE
- Provide direct support to the Senior Manager to reconcile and analyze outstanding checks on a weekly basis. Prepare a listing of all outstanding checks, over 30 days old, monthly, to be researched by the team
- Prepare weekly reports of unprocessed invoices over 30 days old, in Nexus, and work with the team to research using accounting systems, as well as contact internal partners or vendors to clear these items
- Participate in special projects for Treasury and Accounts Payable as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience
- 1+ years of cash management, AP, or treasury experience
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with online banking platforms and treasury workstations; experience with Wells Fargo CEO and Treasura a plus
- Ability to multi-task and work independently with strong attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Nexus and JD Edwards is preferred
