Harold Smarr

Harold leads Federal Realty’s strategy for data governance, compliance and application architecture. He co-leads the company’s information technology department and brings more than two decades of experience in commercial real estate technology, with expertise in business intelligence, enterprise systems and IT project management.
Harold joined Federal Realty in 2015. Previously, he served as director of application development at Washington Real Estate Investment Trust and held roles in network engineering, IT project management, IT operations and application development at First Potomac Realty Trust. He began his career in web development and technology consulting.
Harold holds a Bachelor of Science in management science and information technology from Virginia Tech, where he graduated cum laude.
